WHAT IS IT FOR, AND WHAT IS IT ABOUT? HOW CAN YOU JOIN? WHY BECOME A PARTNER?
These are just a few questions one may ask– but they are surely not the only ones!
The Project Exchange Pool (PEP) is a new approach to solidarity, to transforming the Soroptimist spirit into facts and figures, to bringing alive a “give-and-take” programme which will not only help others, but also give you satisfaction and make you feel, for many years to come, that as a Soroptimist, you have really turned words into action!
The PEP is a "pool" or a "bank" in which projects can be linked together, where ideas for joint projects can be exchanged, where help can be offered or asked for, where Soroptimist solidarity can be practiced, where hopes can be translated into action. Working together as clubs, Soroptimists can make the projects and their commitment stronger.
Although funding may be one of the targets, it is most certainly not the only one! Exchanges may be set up for technical or medical equipment, teaching materials, providing transportation facilities, offering know-how, giving ideas for good practices, starting language/training courses, scholarships, visits, exchange of professional or logistical experiences – the list is endless.
To make your project known, fill in the form giving as much pertinent information as you can, and it will be uploaded on our website for others to see and respond to, so you can join hands and work together.
In this way you can make contacts that may offer to join forces with you or to contribute in one way or another so that your project may become – in the long run –THE project! Others may just want to know more about it so that they too can set up something similar. There may be others who will be travelling to your country and feel inspired to learn more about your project because they find it so exciting. Whatever the purpose may be, through the PEP you will have built a bridge to other Soroptimists who are interested in what you are doing and want to find out more about it.
